The Department of Homeland Security issued a warning to state and local governments, as well as critical infrastructures to be vigilant against potential cyber attacks by Russia in retaliation of any US or NATO response for a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
CISA highlighted a warning from Microsoft about a specific malware strain that deletes the Maters Boot Record of Windows services, an attack that was used on Ukrainian organizations.
CISA’s recommendation is that if you are working with a Ukrainian business or have an office there, that you follow steps to focus on cyber resiliency in case of an attack.
